SELEUKID KINGS. Antiochos Hierax, circa 242-227 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 33 mm, 16.91 g, 12 h), Alexandria Troas. Idealized head of a young king (Hierax?) to right, wearing winged diadem. Rev. BAΣIΛEΩΣ - ANTIOXOY Apollo seated left on omphalos, holding arrow in his right hand and resting his left on grounded bow; to outer left and right, monograms; in exergue, horse grazing left on ground line. SC 879.1b. WSM -, cf. 1585-1586 (differing right monogram). Rare. A lustrous, wonderful and perfectly preserved example of this interesting issue. Good extremely fine.
